It uses a vertically anchored ring system which comes in two sizes to accommodate a wide variety of lights. The large ring will accept light bodies with a diameter from 1.00" to 1.03." the small ring will accept light bodies with a diameter from 0.84" to 0.88." a light can be installed and removed without having to take the mount off your handguard. The offset placement of the light while using the mount is designed to allow clearance with most front sights.
